Practitioners recommend applying the seal of Veles to all who are associated with trade, have their own business or participate in the conclusion of transactions. The deity favors only honest businessmen and deceivers are severely punished, because careless entrepreneurs are better to choose another mascot. The symbol acts as a protector, and therefore you can also give it to a child. But we must keep in mind that the seal is a very powerful sign, which should not be worn by children all the time. Also, women should be careful, because otherwise you can become masculine, aggressive and overly rigid character, which will complicate the construction of relationships with the opposite sex.
Appearance of the seal of Veles
In the ancient Slavs, a wolf or bear print found on the ground was considered a good sign, speaking of gaining good luck. According to pagan beliefs, so the mighty Veles spoke of his attention to man.
A Slavic talisman looks like a mark of a bear or wolf, because it was in these wild predators that the deity turned when he wanted to appear to the inhabitants of Yavis. Sometimes the magical seal of Veles is depicted in the form of a whole paw, but such a symbol departs from the canon, although it retains its magical properties. It is important to preserve the anatomical authenticity, and therefore the mark of the bear is depicted with 5 fingers, and the wolf's paw - with 4. The type of talisman is chosen based on what properties of what predatory beast must be acquired.
Worn Slavic amulet in the form of a pendant around the neck, with a thread must be made of natural material. It is better to use black color and tie a triple knot, because this sacred number gives the seal protective properties. The most suitable form for the amulet of Veles is a circle. Suitable material is considered silver, which reflects any negativity. Make amulets even from wood, but preference should be given to the following male species:
Maple wood is considered a good material for such an amulet.
- oak;
- maple;
- elm;
- cedar;
- ash.
Feast of Veles Stretch
This day is celebrated by the Slavs on February 11. The birth of Veles hides the secret of predestination, known only to the ancestor. Among the gods Veles is both friend and foe at the same time. The son of mysterious Zemun, who looks in legends as some special being from another world, Veles appears as one of the strongest, most ambiguous and mysterious Gods of the pantheon, who has always been honored by pagans.
If you ask someone with little knowledge of Russian mythology to name one of the Gods, Veles comes to mind in any case. Sometimes they call Perun, Chernobog, Makosh, Troyan, but Veles - always. But few people know about this tradition of Slavic Vedic culture to celebrate this special day.
Different tales are told: of Veles the Buyny, the Lukavy, and the Tricky. The only God whose spiritual tragedy we know of from old Russian legends. Wandering between worlds, meeting different representatives of humanity and amazing beings, Veles clearly became mighty, strong and wise and always kept an eye on things.
Magi, poets and musicians, almost all the beasts of the forest were in his power, and werewolves were faithful helpers. For wanderings the great ones regarded the god and patron of travelers. The mighty god Veles himself turned himself into the master of the forest. For this image assigned to the god Veles the emblem of a bear's footprint as an attribute. At celebrations, Veles is a frequent guest and likes to appear in the form of a brown mighty bear.
The magical meaning of the symbol
The Sigil is dedicated to Veles, the one who is second only to Perun in power and significance. The god patronizes the plowmen, merchants and sorcerers, who turn for support to the elements of nature, and also symbolizes order. Do not use the seal of Veles those who earn a living dishonest ways, set up and offend others, addicted to drugs or drinking alcohol. After all, representatives of the Slavic pagan pantheon not only help, but also punish.
Possessors of a talisman with an imprint of a predator's paw easily achieve their goals without noticing obstacles. Magical seal protects against failures, difficulties and mistakes in the implementation of goals. If properly activated amulet, Veles will give incredible luck, bring with them useful people, will help protect against envious and ill-wishers. If you want to become more purposeful, to stop dependence on others, to find courage, then such incarnation of the deity as a wolf will help.
A traveling man will be protected from trouble on the road, if he has such a sign.
Another meaning of the seal is an amulet against spoilage, evil eye, curses and energy vampires. The sign of Veles gives wisdom and reveals hidden talents. Practitioners use the symbol to increase magical potential, enhance intuition and the gift of foresight. Be sure to take Veles amulet in travel to protect yourself from accidents, fraudsters and thieves.
Veles and his Love. What happens with this Slavic holiday?
In nature, Veles awakens a sense of the strongest, but such a pleasant solar confusion of the soul! And everything in nature awakens! And not in vain this god is called a magician and a keeper - because whoever fell into his spell, could not resist. Not only was the power of the mighty god destructive to those who fell into his power, but it was also healing - for who but this god would guide and help with wise counsel in the name of goodness and justice?
Herein lies his mystery and captivity! From any darkness and any trouble Veles can lead a person out of, both in affairs of serious help, and in relationships on the path of truth. This sometimes happens at the Slavic celebration of Veles' Stretch.
Did you know that this god has his own story? The story of eternal love, in which there is both tenderness and self-sacrifice, and connecting at all times, creating power. Everything is beautiful in this story - both the agony of parting and the joy of meeting. He met his love on his way by chance and immediately recognized it as his own. Veles and his mate named Yaginya is perhaps the only story in the Slavic epic about the eternal power of love.
This is how it is in life - those who receive the patronage of the great god find their love dreamy, romantic, passionate, and sensual, and achieve it by all means. This wonderful Russian celebration, when winter is raging and spring is timidly hiding, gives the Slavs just that sense of strength, of hope.
Because of the strange history of the emergence of the patron, everyone imagined the ancient god differently. Some in the image of a wanderer with a staff, some as a bear warlock, some as a barefooted young man, traveling through towns and villages. Some represent him as a wise, thinking and knowledgeable Guardian God, and some as a merry, cheerful young man with a boisterous nature. But all of these definitions will not stand in the way of what, after all, is an important god Veles. And on February 11 we must remember this and celebrate this holiday of reverence!
Veles can control events without becoming attached to something material, without being tempted by jewels; he knows better than anyone that money created wealth - nothing compared to true feelings; knows that what is truly valuable, no one appreciates. Veles, who has seen the dark and light sides of life, knows that to make mistakes is not a sin, but that one can learn from them and boldly walk through life in the name of justice.
God of power, sorcery, witchcraft, perfectly knows the representatives of humanity and can penetrate inside, take possession of the soul, thoughts and consciousness. Influencing others, Veles sees through their secrets and future actions. The patron sage of the wise is met when an important and courageous decision must be made, when it is necessary to assess the situation sensibly and turn the wheel of life in the name of the good. Let us remember this as we meet this Slavic holiday of veneration!
Feast Days.
According to tradition, he was worshipped twice a year:
- in the period from 1 to 6 January (Christmas Eve, December according to the old calendar);
- February 11.
Our forefathers believed that on these dates (according to the old calendar in December) are in the will of the warrior, for Lord Veles, as a guardian-errant goes through his possessions and protects the wild beasts. It was thought that it was possible to meet him accidentally in one of the images, walking in the woods in December. He controlled the winds and winter colds. On Veles' feasts (on the old calendar in December) on Christmas Eve they kindled large bonfires and prepared refreshments from the fruits of agricultural work.
Ways to use
A law enforcement officer should be given an amulet in the form of a paw print, because the pagan god protects everyone who stands on guard of the law. Veles will protect from injury, attack and death, but only those who do not deal with criminals and honestly perform their duty.
The most common way to use a magical seal is to create a pendant worn on the chest. The scheme of wearing is simple: you must hide the ornament under clothing and take it off while taking water procedures, which take away the energy of the symbol. Strong in spirit people can constantly wear the seal of Veles, but when you feel overworked, it is better to put it away in a separate casket made of wood. Wolf or bear paw possesses a powerful energy, which weakens the wearer. You can apply the symbol of Veles on rings and rings, but only use noble metals and stones. The most powerful seal has the power made by one's own hand. You can weave a sign from threads. The scheme of weaving involves creating a rounded paw with symmetrical fingers, and the knot must be tight.
How to activate the symbol?
As an offering to the deity for the opportunity to use the power of the talisman, you can leave pig meat.
Practitioners believe that the paw of Veles, which was filled with power among trees - pines, cedars or spruces - has the greatest power. The time of day is after sunset, because the god opens to mortals the veil of Navi, the contact with which is strong at night. Activation takes place in solitude, phones and other equipment must be turned off. The seal is clenched in the palms of their hands and mentally uttered a request-address to the deity. Then it is recommended to leave an offering at the top of the hill after midnight. Veles loves cow oil, pork, animal skins, bread, wine, and honey.
At home, activation with the elements of water and flame is carried out. When the person is alone, light a wick, and put the symbol in a bowl with water collected from a stream, spring, or spring. Next, a prayer to the deity is said. As a supplement, sometimes the powers of the remaining elements are used, for this purpose the amulet of the seal of Veles is buried in the ground, and then smoked with incense.
Tattoo: can the symbol be applied?
The sketch in the form of a paw print is recommended by practitioners to apply with caution, because the symbol has a powerful divine energy. The owner must be absolutely sure that he will not commit in the future unlawful acts and will not harm others for the sake of profit, otherwise the tattoo will have to pay dearly. Tattoo paw bear suits more men, giving strength, courage and faith in their own strength. A woman, however, should smooth out the male energy of the tattoo, adding images of flowers.
